A developer and platform experience function at Lunar

Context

Lunar is a Nordic challenger bank where engineering speed and regulatory control have to coexist. The technology organisation needed a dedicated function to give developers, data engineers, and security teams the platforms to work on their own without losing compliance.

What I did

I took on an existing department of around fifty people in five teams and redefined its structure, roles, responsibilities, and communication lines, using Team Topologies and domain-driven design to draw the boundaries. I ran it on OKRs so the teams worked to clear outcomes rather than activity. We built self-service and x-as-a-service capabilities so engineering, data, security, and employees could provision what they needed directly. I set outcome targets for eID consolidation, implementation success, and platform robustness, with continuous regulatory compliance throughout.

Outcome

Lunar gained a platform organisation with clear ownership and self-service paths, so teams could move faster while staying inside their regulatory obligations.
